Title
The importance of the Auction Title should not be overlooked. Search on LikeItLots and what do you see? A list of auction titles. It's the main method of attracting a potential bidder to your auction.

You only have 50 characters to attract a potential bidder - so make them count - think about the title before you write it in. This is how the bidder will look at your title - ask yourself if it satisfies the following requirements:

Does it accurately describe the product?
Does it make sense?
If it is unique in any way - is this put across in the title?
If it's a great deal - such as £1 no reserve - is this in the title?
Is it spelt correctly? (Much more important than you might think - many people are put off by bad spelling).
Is there anything in the title which is not really necessary? If so, take it out.

Description
The auction description is where most potential bidders will make up their minds on whether to bid on an auction or not. Your description can often sway a potential bidder into becoming an actual bidder. Here are a few tips for auction descriptions:

Make sure you include as much information as possible. Think as if you were the buyer. If you read the description, would there be enough information to make you place a bid?
Never assume that the potential bidder knows just as much about the item as you do.
Check spelling - it is more important than you may think and can annoy potential bidders.

Description Template
You may save your description template with us. When you next submit a listing, you will see a link 'Insert Template' and when clicked, your saved description will be automatically entered into the form. You can then make any adjustments if necessary.

Start Price
This is the lowest price at which you are prepared to sell your item. Your auction will start at this price and generally it is the lowest price at which you are willing to sell. Setting the Start Price too high may discourage bidding!

Reserve Price
Setting a Reserve Price lets you start the bidding at a price lower than you would be willing to sell for. To use the Reserve Price option, set the real amount you are willing to accept for your item; this is your reserve Price. Your Reserve Price is hidden from bidders, but your item's information will note whether the Reserve Price has been met yet. Leave the field blank if you don't want to use a Reserve Price.

Buy Now Price
Seller's have the option of setting a Buy Now price. This means that until such time as a bid is placed and/or the reserve price has been met, the buyer may purchase the item at the Buy Now price and thereby end the auction immediately. Note: This option is removed automatically once a bid is placed and/or the reserve price has been met.

Adding picture(s)
These are optional, but our experience shows that buyers prefer to see what they are bidding on. You will need a digital photograph of the item. Creating a digital photograph is easy, and you dont always need a digital camera an ordinary one will do! Check out our Picture Tutorial for more information on creating pictures for your listing.

Payment Methods
Choose See Item Description if you would prefer to choose an alternative method of payment for your item and enter the details within the item description.

Postage Information
If the bidder pays for postage - determine the price for a Postal Service and enter it here. Many bidders will avoid an auction if there isn't a clear indication of what the final price including p&p will be.
